Cruising is a great way to explore the British Isles and a common excursion port is Invergordon Scotland. What can you see in 1 day in Invergordon?  WOW Scotland Tours has created a perfect itinerary for cruise ships visiting this destination.  Their excellent video created in 2019 visually highlights the picturesque Scottish landscapes and landmark locations you will encounter during your day in Invergordon.

Invergordon Cruise Excursion

Our British Isles cruise is a 12-day Princess Cruises experience that bounces along the coastlines stopping in Invergordon just before Edinburgh.  The most famous attraction is Loch Ness but there is probably no need to have your telephoto lens ready for the sea monster to appear -- or will you be the lucky one?  The WOW Invergordon tour has an excellent itinerary that is adjusted based on our cruise times.  Key highlights include:

Invergordon Port Area

Cawdor Castle

Loch Ness

Scenic Highlands Drive

Clava Cairns

Culloden Battlefield

Highland Cows

256px Highland Cattle 10

If you are going to Scotland, chances are that you are going to see a castle as part of a tour.  At this port of call, you have the opportunity to see Cawdor Castle, a 14th Century fortress.  The castle itself changed over time and is still owned by the Cawdor family.

Summer is a great time of the year to visit the castle so that you can explore the beautiful gardens.  The castle has three gardens to enjoy: Walled, Flower and Wild.

The castle is generally open for visitors from mid-April to the end of September.  Tickets are approximetly 14£ per adult with a family package for 35£.

WOW Scotland Tours

The WOW Scotland Tours company is a family-owned business started in 2010 that is highly rated by TripAdvisor users.   You will avoid the large cruise bus excursions with a local tour guide and a luxury mini-coach.  The company makes reservations easy with a booking calendar that lists cruise lines including Princess Cruises, Norwegian Cruise Lines, Holland America Cruise Lines, Celebrity Cruises, Royal Caribbean, Oceania Cruises, MSC Cruises and others.  For those wanting a front seat or extra leg room they have some seats available for that upgrade.
