Here is something to get you into the spirit of giving during the holiday season - The Canadian Pacific Holiday Train.  This train may be rolling through your town for a stop that will delight the whole family with its 14 festively lit rail cars and musical shows performed from one of the boxcars that turns into a stage.  They only request that you make a food donation or monetary donation that will be given to the local food bank to help the local community.

There are actually two trains that travel from coast to coast across Canada and the United States over a three week period in November and December and make 150 stops along the way, putting on a show at every stop.  The brief presentations by local officials and the musical show lasts about 30 minutes and then they move on to the next location. They generally vary their routes every year to reach more communities in both Canada and the U.S.  Read more about this train and find out if one is coming through your town this year at CP Holiday Train.

Summer is over and thankfully nature provides us a fireworks of fall color that with cooler temperatures draws us out to hike and explore parks and cities.  Day trips rank number one for travelers to find the color hues of autumn followed by weekend getaways in a cabin or bed and breakfast near the woods. Our dreams of hiking to the rustle of leaves under our feet and babbling brooks carrying a single red maple leaf cascading over rocks and getting caught by a branch gets us planning a road trip somewhere in the fall.  But where should we plan a trip?

This is one of the most amusing videos we've found. Joerg Daiber's creative use of time lapse/tilt shift video techniques gave this film the look of a miniature Niagara Falls with tiny fast-paced boats and people, real people and boats, that is. It's a very imaginative little video.

Joerg Daiber comments:  The Niagara Falls are one of the most popular tourist attractions in North America. Check them out in adorable miniature size, yet more dramatic than ever.
