Our 3-bedroom unit was very spacious, modern, clean and luxurious. It was not a beach front unit, but we preferred it for the privacy. If you can get an end unit you will have a wider view. I suppose in the high season the restaurants nearby may be noisier but we rather enoyed be able to look down and see what's going on. The unit was very nicely appointed and the kitchen had all the items you would need to cook, including excellent appliances, cookware, nice dishes and glasses.
For beaches to visit, we highly recommend Friars Bay and the adjacent beach, Happy Bay, which can be accessed via a scenic short hike. Take an escape now and watch our Pinel Island video, which has a gorgeous beach and a scenic hiking trail. What we didn't realize until the end of our stay is that Dawn Beach itself was very enjoyable and the snorkeling is excellent. Others have said it was rough, but though it may look that way, we didn't find it to be so at all, and the seaweed only seemed normal and wasn't excessive.
Some of our restaurant reviews - Definitely Big Fish is well worth it. The ambiance, decor and especially the food was outstanding. It is far and away better than any restaurant in the Oyster Pond area. A new restaurant, Canoa, is trying to be like Big Fish, but it's not even close. It simply was not good food. Daniel's By the Sea has decent Italian food and the location is particularly nice. Mr. Busbys is convenient and their Guavaberry Colada is fantastic.
Overall, the Coral Beach Club was very convenient to the French side and all its lovely beaches as well as Phillipsburg and the Dutch side.
