A Top Saint Martin Beach - Friar's Bay

Written by  SHOWME Caribbean

On our list of best St. Martin beaches is Friar's Bay.  This quiet white sand beach with calm turquoise water is perfect for swimming and snorkeling.  It has two restaurants, Kali's Beach Bar and Friar's Bay Beach Cafe, where you can also rent chairs and umbrellas.

Like Happy Bay, which is adjacent to this beach via a short trail, this beach is rarely crowded, has very calm water and perfect for families.  It is located on the French side of St. Martin between the towns of Marigot and Grand Case and has an excellent view of the neighboring island of Anguilla. The beach is off the main road on a somewhat bumpy dirt road but you'll be rewarded at the end when you see this beautiful beach.

On the day we set out to explore this beach, we first stopped by our favorite French grocery store to pick up some items for a picnic on the beach.  With a couple baguettes, some meats and cheeses, sweets, and a bottle of wine in tow, we enjoyed a picnic and a swim on this beach before taking the short hike over the hill to beautiful Happy Bay.

Check out the other 4 beaches on our best beaches of St. Martin list - Happy Bay, Dawn Beach, Pinel Island and Maho Beach.
