The hotel offers the most stunning overwater bungalows that stand out from the others along the reef. The bungalows' bright orange stilts supporting its thatched roof bungalows are eye-catching. One cannot say enough about the rest of the resort with its beautiful lagoon of nearly unreal shades of brilliant blue and its calm resort beach of soft white sand. The resort property is made up of gorgeous overwater bungalows stretching out into the lagoon, beach bungalows, villas, restaurants and bars offering beautiful water views as well as an impressive reception area.
The staff's excellent and always-pleasant customer service made our stay even more enjoyable. From the moment we arrived, until we left, which was only 24-hours later since we were on a Windstar Cruise romance package overwater bungalow excursion, everyone was cheerful and anxious to please at every turn. The food in the restaurants was absolutely decadent. We had a romantic, candle-lit 7-course French dinner on the beach. We did admire the romantic setting of Le Tipanie Restaurant with its amazing views of the lagoon and tropical fish that swim beside the tables. We'll remember that for our next visit here. Our meal was superb and our beautifully decorated table was a masterpiece.
Sunsets and sunrises are breathtaking here. Gazing at the thousands of stars in the sky at night from our bungalow deck was jaw-dropping. It's easy to fall asleep under the stars on the comfortable deck chairs, which I did, while Stuart captured the star-lit sky in hundreds of photos.
In the morning breakfast was delivered by outrigger canoe and set up on the table over the glass-bottom floor in our bungalow. Time was running out for us on this excursion, so we managed to squeeze in a visit to their turtle farm where they nurture injured turtles back to health. Then we quickly had lunch in their Te Ava Restaurant where we relaxed in the shade in bright pink rocking chairs with our feet in the sand while we dined on a French-inspired salad and flavorful hamburger. Regrettably, our time had run out and it was time to head to the dock for our private boat ride back to the main dock near our Windstar ship.
One thing we are certain of, we will be coming back here again. No need to shop around, Le Meridien Bora Bora was like our overwater bungalow resort dream come true, and there was so much more we wanted to see and do here and our 24-hour tour was enough to entice us to come back and visit this little slice of paradise again someday.
