Alexandria Virginia Old Town Farmers Market

Written by  somedaytrips

There is so much to do, see and experience at the oldest continuous Farmers' Market in the USA.  Learn all about this tradition in Old Town, Alexandria, Virginia, in this short video.  Since this is our home town, we go to the Farmers' Market almost every week to see what's new and buy fresh-off-the farm fruits, vegetables and other foods, including fresh made breads, pastries, pasta, and pickles, to name a few.  There are so many more delicious foods at the market and many other things as well.  The fact that this one has been around since the 1700s is pretty amazing.

City of Alexandria describes their video:  Food, artisans, and community come together every Saturday at the Old Town Farmers' Market in Alexandria, Virginia. The Alexandria community celebrates buying fresh, local, and seasonal food directly from the farmer, and participates in community-building events throughout the year at the historic Old Town Farmers' Market, the longest continuously running farmers' market in the United States.
