When he originally acquired the home, it was just a simple farmhouse but over 45 years, he slowly renovated and expanded the home to become a 21-room residence befitting his growing status as a leader of a very young country.
We picked this video because we enjoyed the perspective it provided of the estate by the way the camera moves around the mansion at ground-level and above, approaching it from all angles, presenting beautiful views of the mansion, the gardens, grounds and Potomac River. You get to see the estate grounds without all the movement of people and tourists, just the majestic home and grounds on a quiet fall day.
