First, we recommend seeing the Saks Fifth Avenue light show and ornate holiday window displays to kick off your visit. This video of the spectacular light show that is projected on the facade of the Saks Fifth Avenue building is an especially creative and dazzling feast for the eyes. Take a look at Saks' debut night of last year's candy themed Land of 1000 Delights. This fantastic light show of some 225,000 twinkling lights played for about 2.5 minutes every 10 minutes from 5-11pm until just after the new year. We're waiting to see what this year's light show will be. The gorgeous holiday window displays at Macy's, Lord and Taylor, Bloomingdales, and many other stores, are not to be missed either. People of all ages will enjoy these brilliant window exhibits.
Next is getting a ticket to the rollicking and fun Christmas show at Radio City Music Hall featuring the famous Rockettes. The precision dancers perform several amazing dance numbers throughout the show wearing wildly colorful and elaborate costumes. The Parade of the Wooden Soldiers is their most famous number which shows off their incredibly perfect dance precision. The show also includes other dancers, singers, ice-skaters, musicians and much more. The Christmas Spectacular is a true delight for the whole family and highly recommended if you visit New York City at Christmas.

Another highlight of the city at Christmas is Rockefeller Center, where you feel like you're in the heart of Christmas in the City. The huge beautifully decorated Christmas tree in the center has an ice-skating rink, known as The Rink, at its base where up to 150 skaters can enjoy skating in one of the most iconic Christmas settings in New York City. There is excellent dining and shopping in this area as well so it's a perfect place to revel in Christmas festivities.
